Forum Post: toggling a pin in AM3359 in the BBB

Out of curiosity, I would like to toggle a I/O pin in my BeagleBone Black (BBB) using a only C code. Yes, Similar to what we initially do when we get a new ARM-M development board.

Now, I understand that BBB is supposed to run an OS and threads and I have the option to compile a C program which would run on top of Linux or any other O/S. But this is not what I need to do.

I would like to toggle a pin, using pure C code or using any API calls provided by TI (if there are any).  Can this be done in CCS choosing the processor as a AM3359 and connecting to its TAG (or equivalent) pins in debug mode? What is the way to run a code in AM3359 with NO OS? is there more than one way?

Please dont' get offended for this is not industry related. Its only for my knowledge and I would love to  learn how to simply degub this processor instruction by instruction. I think toggling a PIN would be the easiest do to.
