Why you are concerned with designing a product to operate with silicon revision 1.0 and 2.0 devices?
Silicon revision was released to production in early 2013. Therefore, any product designed today should be using silicon revision 2.1.
If you must design a product to use silicon revision 1.0 and 2.0 devices, I would prefer you use equal length signal traces so reflections from the far end of each branch returns to the series termination resistor at the same time. If not, the returns will arrive back to the series termination resistor at different times and may propagate down the other branches.
