I've initially tried to install the software on a SUSE system and had some issues so I decided to use the Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - one of the recommended distributions.
I've created a VirtualBox machine running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (under my SUSE) and directed the USB from the starter kit to it. I've installed in the starter kit board the SDK memory card. I've connected the USB cable andan ethernet cable between the board and my computer. I've powered up the board.
Two USB directories named "boot" and "START_HERE" were auto-mounted. I went to "START_HERE" and tried to run "START_HERE.sh" - it claims that this software is for BeagleBone and that no BeagleBone board is found and exited. When I try to run "ti-sdk-am335x-evm-05.05.00.00-Linux-x86-Install" it returns to me without doing anything. I've also tried to run rev 6.0 of the SDK that I downloaded from TI web site - same result.
Any idea what's wrong or what should I try next?
